Duke’s EPL Preview 2/3

UPDATES: JOSE DROPS MARTIAL…WTF.  FRONT 4 OF LUKAKU, MATA, LINGARD AND SANCHEZ.  IF YOU ARE STACKING 2 (PROBABLY RECOMMENDED IN GPP, NOT CASH) I’D GO SANCHEZ, MATA OR SANCHEZ, LUKAKU.

SHAW/VALENCIA AT FB FOR UNITED.  TOO EXPENSIVE FOR MY OPTIMAL BUILD.

VARDY AND IHENACHO START UP TOP IN A 4-4-2.  Leicester crush the bottom of the the table with 18 goals for and 8 against in 8 games.  Could it be a shoot out??  I prefer the flier on Ihenacho to save the extra $1.7k in salary.  He’s in the range of Sturridge though who I would rather play.

STURRIDGE STARTS!!  HE’LL BE IN MY MAIN GPP LINEUP.  PAIRED WITH RONDON UP FRONT IN A 4-4-2.  WEST BROM ARE MUCH BETTER AT HOME.

C. WILSON STARTS WITH IBE AND STANISLAS UNDERNEATH.  STANISLAS DOES TAKE AWAY FROM IBE A LITTLE BIT BUT I DON’T HATE THE PLAY.

NO ARSENAL/EVERTON TEAM NEWS OBVIOUSLY.  ADJUST ACCORDINGLY.  I THINK THERE IS ENOUGH IN THE 10AM SLATE TO BUILD SOLELY ON THAT.

GOOD LUCK!

As always, a quick review of this week’s previous slates and how the picks did…

Tuesday?  Smashed it.  You had to have won money.

Wednesday?  Gave out top plays (DeBruyne/JWP/Sterling) and great value (Kenedy/S. Coleman) but didn’t roster enough Walcott to come out in black.  He’s looked good in his few games at Everton.  Both of his goals were more poacher than brilliant build up.

Here is one thing to keep in mind guys and girls…just because we don’t recommend a player and they go off, doesn’t mean you have to have them in your roster to cash.  Look at the top 10 performers from Wednesday’s DK Striker contest.

Player Roster Position %Drafted FPTS
Theo Walcott F 9.69% 39.25
Kevin De Bruyne F 34.23% 32
Christian Eriksen M 2.83% 20.5
Asmir Begovic GK 4.15% 20
Callum Wilson UTIL 1.53% 19.75
Junior Stanislas UTIL 1.12% 19
Nathan Aké D 0.99% 18.5
 Kenedy M 21.87% 17
Raheem Sterling F 13.27% 16.5
James Ward-Prowse M 10.65% 16

We gave you DeBruyne, Kenedy (at $3,300), Sterling and JWP.  4 of the top 10 and the only players over 10% ownership.  Even on slates where we don’t hit the nuts, the possibility to cash should still be there. This also comes down to contest selection as it’s far less likely an Eriksen or even Walcott are rostered in smaller tournaments.  Just an FYI

Good news kids!!  No Man City or Liverpool.  The two highest powered offenses in the land aren’t on the slate so the donkeys can’t just plug and play and get lucky.  This is where you get your monies (free) worth for this content.  This is where we set ourselves apart from the masses.  Let’s go!
