A lot to like tonight but I’m going to go with a few quick hitters to kick off a HUGE weekend of college football.
7:00 : BTN | Buffalo @ Minnesota | Minnesota -23, O/U 50
The P.J. Fleck era has arrived at Minnesota and in the Big Ten. This guy brings unbelievable excitement to the program and will have his guys fired up to start the season with a statement. Minnesota has had a QB battle all through camp and will probably play both Demry Croft and Conor Rhoda tonight. The game will be won, however, by absolutely pounding UB into submission with the combo of Rodney Smith and Shannon Brooks. Buffalo allowed 253 rushing yards per game last season and will not be much better in their front 7. On the other side of the ball, UB has a massive QB but accuracy and turnovers were a problem for Tyree Jackson LY — AKA not good for a QB. The front 7 for the Gophers will be strong, along with the safeties but they can be exposed a bit at CB. Not a problem tonight as Buffalo has absolute trash at the skill positions on offense. This will be the start of a possible 7-0 run to begin the season for the Gophers. All in on P.J. Fleck and these Gophers.

7:00 | Elon @ Toledo | Toledo -45, O/U 56.5
Not going to spend much time on this one but Elon avg 12 ppg LY on offense and have to replace basically their entire defense. Toledo is starting a march towards a possible New Year’s Six bowl game, led by Logan Woodside and an explosive offense. They can name their margin of victory here and I hate betting large spreads but this one should be in the area of 70-3.

7:30 : Pac-12 | North Dakota @ 27 Utah | Utah -20.5, O/U 58
Utah has only 9 total starters back this year but will still be strong on the defensive side of the ball but I worry about their offense, particularly when they get into a tough Pac-12 slate where they may struggle to keep up with those offenses. Oh wait, North Dakota comes in with one of the strongest offenses in all of the FCS and will undoubtedly throw some points on the board tonight in Salt Lake City. Utah is breaking in a new QB and will be looking for a more up tempo attack this season with Tyler Huntley behind center. I worry about some inexperience at the skill positions, particularly having to replace their bell cow RB Joe Williams. That is not even to mention that they are breaking in four new starters across the OL. This is a game where neither team should be favored into double digits and a number that is severely inflated due to name recognition and the home field of Utah. North Dakota will keep this one tight throughout and do not be shocked if they pull off this upset SU.

Back later with maybe one or two more plays. Let’s stack some cash!
