We nailed a few picks last week. A red card in the Chelsea game threw that game out the window. Thanks a lot Cahill, you fucking donkey.
Kind of a shit slate but that’s where we make our money kids!
UPDATE – SALAH OUT. TIER 1 BECOMES A QUESTION OF FIRMINO/SANE. STURRIDGE WILL FIND HIS WAY ON TO THE SCORE SHEET. LIKING THE MAHREZ/VARDY COMBO MORE. STILL LOVE SOARES. LEANING TOWARDS HEATON AT HOME IN GOAL. TIER 2 IS TRASH. TAKE TADIC AND 6-10 PTS OR VARDY AND HOPE HE SCORES?
Pick EM is a new game mode. Instead of a salary cap, you have tiers of players where you will select 1 from each tier. I honestly can’t tell if this makes it easier or harder for the dead money. For us, it will be like stealing. Let’s take a look at the tiers and play it out.
Tier 1 – These are the high end players. We have 2 from Liverpool and 2 from Arsenal. We also have Mahrez who is still pushing for a transfer. Keep in mind that Liverpool played Saturday and then again on Tuesday. Mane and Firmino should still be good to suit up. Arsenal fans didn’t have to wait long for Lacazette to come true, scoring in the first 90 seconds. Ozil is Ozil. He could be amazing or float through the game. Crystal Palace are trash. Stoke can be stubborn. Let’s rank em
Lacazette, Firmino, Mane, Mahrez, Ozil
Tier 2 – Weird tier here. Salah is all action, all the time. Giroud came on to score a goal but Lacazette seems to have the starting spot locked down. Can he take Welbeck’s spot? Walcott is in a similar position. Vardy is 2 years removed from a brilliant season. Watford gave up 3 goals to Liverpool last week but Bournemouth aren’t Liverpool. Let’s rank em
Salah, Tadic, Oxlade-Chamberlin, King, Vardy, Giroud, Walcott
Tier 3 – More options here but let’s dive deeper. Who will get the minutes? LOVE Zaha but he’s out. Origi is a threat and if he starts, he’s the play. Reminder that this will be the 3rd game in a week. Brady is very underrated because he is constantly whipping in balls from the left. Shaqiri is going to have 7-12 crosses. Albrighton will have 6-10 crosses. Fraser could be the wild card who picks up an assist or a goal. Let’s rank em.
Brady, Shaqiri, Fraser, Albrighton, Townsend, Origi (Move to first if he starts)
Tier 4 – This is our money tier. A lot of question marks. Do you chase goals or take someone like Arnautovic who is going to get points from many areas? I may be the last person on the Cristian Benteke train but one thing we can all agree on is that Liverpool is HORRENDOUS at the back. I think he pops up with a goal. Also, they are bad on set pieces and gave up a goal off a corner last week. Gabbiadini also can punch it in the net. I like Ihenacho but he hasn’t played much yet. Vokes scored 2 goals but FUCK that game. I don’t think he keeps this up against 11 men. Let’s rank em.
Benteke, Welbeck, Gabbiadini, Arnautovic, Vokes, Ward-Prowse
Tier 5 – I’ll keep it short. Soares is the top play. Maybe the most consistent DFS player along with Sigurdsson. Plug him in and move on.
Soares, Redmond, Chicharito, Bojan, Brunt, Gray
Tier 6 – Stoke v Arsenal has the lowest total. We are looking for 2 things here…saves, potential clean sheet and the win bonus. I think people will look at the names they recognize and lean towards Cech and Hart. Both are on the road and I think both give up a goal. West Ham look like shit…Forster ain’t great but he may be where I lean. Let’s rank em.
Forster, Heaton, Schmeichel, Foster, Cech, Begovic
