YTD : 14-9 (61%), +5.1 UN
Got off to a decent start in the opening weekend of College Football coming up with a positive 5 units. Positive 5 units a week would result in a HUGE year but we all know how the ups and downs are with gambling so always have to be cautiously aggressive. There obviously are not as many big games this week but that has no bearing on seeing edges in the lines and stacking paper. Let’s GO!!!
- Noon : Central Michigan @ Oklahoma St. (O61.5) — 2 UN
This is a matchup of two VERY experienced QB’s and passing offenses that should be a shootout from the start. Cooper Rush may be a top 3 QB in Kiper’s ratings by the end of the year and he has some weapons to work with. The ENTIRE Oklahoma St. offense is back from a year ago when they averaged 40 a game. CMU has one of the better defenses in the MAC but they will have a very hard time slowing down this Cowboy attack. Let’s cash this before the 4Q even starts.
2. Noon : Wyoming (+24.5) @ Nebraska — 2 UN
Wyoming cashed for us last Saturday night at 7.5 point dogs coming up with a SU win at home against Northern Illinois. This is a much improved offensive team with a big time JUCO QB Josh Allen who has a cannon attached to his shoulder. RB Brian Hill is coming off a 125 yard performance to go along with 2 TD’s after putting up a 1,600 yard season LY. Adding to the attack, and what could be a big difference in this game, are the big WR for Wyoming standing at 6-6 and 6-2 and they both came up with 100 yard games a week ago. This will be a much more balanced attack this year and specifically in this game as the young but talented Nebraska LB’s will give Wyoming some issues in the run game, which will prompt Bohl to get those big WR’s involved against a VERY sketchy Husker secondary. On the other side of the ball Nebraska definitely has some experience and talent at the skill positions but I still cannot trust Tommy Turnover. Wyoming does have some issues with size in the front 7 so I definitely expect Nebraska to pound away which always helps when we are getting 24+ pts. This one will be much closer than the number throughout the afternoon to give us the money
3. Noon : Penn St. @ Pitt (U47.5) — 2 UN
These are two offenses that are still working some things out. Penn St. is trying to go with a more wide open offense with new QB Trace McSorley and an experienced set of WR’s. They do have the best player on the field in this game with Saquan Barkley. Pitt has cancer survivor James Conner in the backfield but this offense struggled to get anything going last week against FCS opponent Villanova. These are two teams that will be grinding things out all game and pair that with two REALLY strong defenses and we have a recipe for a 20-17 type of game, if not less. This should be a comfortable cover the whole way.
Running low on time so here are my other 1 unit plays early:
4. Noon : UCF @ Michigan (-36.5)
5. Noon : Central Michigan @ Oklahoma St. (-20)
6. Noon : Lamar @ Houston (-43)
