Andrew White III to Transfer

Shit!

I really thought my first post about my beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers would not only be positive news but certainly not about the damn basketball team, given the time of year.  I received news yesterday that our leading scorer from last year, Andrew White III, will be transferring.  He graduated in May and will be able to play right away.  If you were not aware he transferred to Nebraska two years ago from Kansas because he wasn’t playing enough.  He sat out his mandated year and started 34 games for Tim Miles and the Huskers, averaging about 18 points and 5 rebounds a game.  This is a huge blow to everyone involved with the program, especially coaches and fans.  The same fans who have put Nebraska Basketball in the top 15 in attendance the last few years.  That’s not suppose to happen for a program who has been to one tournament game in damn near 20 years.

I was looking to have a big year next year with him returning along with Tai Webster, Ed Morrow, Glynn Watson Jr., and Anton Gill being eligible.  I still really like the team, but having White in the lineup would have been huge with his ability to spread the floor.  Just an absolute heart breaker.  Hopefully the ‘Skers can shake it off and put together a good year.

P.S.  White III did keep his name in the hat for the NBA Draft until the last possible second.  Should have seen something like this coming but he claimed he was coming back and all in.  Just frustrating.

  1. I wasn’t aware Nebraska had a basketball team, I do know their women’s bowling team is fantastic!
